I have somewhat peculiar taste in rifles and I found a 1907 for sale, so I did a little research and history lesson and I knew I had to buy it. I'm glad there is a board and a group of affectionados of this interesting piece of Americana. Suffice it to say that I may be asking a lot of questions of some of you and I just wanted to thank you in advance.
I haven't received my rifle yet, shipping is slow during the holidays, but when I do I will be anxious to check it out and take it to the range.
So is there any issue using modern day ammo in the rifle if it appears sound?
Buffalo Arms and PCI both manufacture ammo, presently neither is in stock, but I may reload my own.
Thanks again.

Hello and welcome to the site.Usually .351 WSL ammo can be found at gun shows, although you may have to ask around a bit ,before you locate it.I have a number of .351 WSL factory ammo full boxes ,plus I reload for it as well.

28gauge, Thanks for the reply. Yes I thought about the same ammo resource. Fortunately we have a large gun show here that makes the rounds every other month. I think February is the next date. I have been fortunate to pick up 22TCM, 40 AE and a few other odd calibers when I go to the show. I recently bought a Browning High Wall M1885 in 50-110 caliber, so there is another rifle I'll be looking for ammo and or brass for.

The .50-110 is a fun rifle to shoot.I have two Model 1886 rifles in that calibre.Do have some original rounds for the rifle, but shoot hand loads in my rifles. The 300 grain bullet feels like shooting a .30-30.However ,the 450 grain bullet has a fair bit of recoil to it. Was the high wall chambered for the .50-110 by Browning or was it re barreled from another calibre? The Model 07 is a fun rifle to shoot as well.I find the trigger pull to be a bit on the stiff side, but still a great shooting rifle.
