nothing hardly gets posted here and that's a shame, I wish folks would be more active. here is my model 81 early model, 1938 I just picked it up. it is as nice as the photo all the way around and it has vintage marbles sights and shoots as good as it looks.

Ahhhh, man... That's a keeper. The wood seems particularly nice for a Model 81, is it as good as it looks? I need to link this forum up with a website on Vintage Semi's.

yes sir it is nice, it has a few chips in the varnish on the bottom of the stock, that's about it. I don't think this one made it out of the closet much, but it will......

Is that the original blue? Very nice.
I had my Model 8 .35 Rem out the other day - what a great shooter. I've been using 158 gr bullets sized to .358 with 20 grs IMR 4227, and they work great. I tried a lighter bullet (125 gr) with a little more powder (21.5 grs) but the cases would not eject.
